Softball!

October 24, 2006

Thanks Xiaobin and Beth for the late-night softball session! He really enjoyed it. Especially after finding out that he has improved and even possess the potential to pitch (can pitch).

Softball is fun! Wished more people are interested though… The Hall’s guys softball team is so far gone. What a pity. And he was hoping to play full games… Is it really true that guys aren’t meant to play softball ‘cos of all the waiting?

Nevertheless, he enjoyed himself tonight.

Yes, even the numb palm.

Bits and Pieces

September 10, 2006

He’d like to say a big “thank you” to all of you for showing him your concerns and showering him with words of warmth and encouragement. He will do his bestest to pick himself up and sort everything out as soon as possible. And like he had said during the disastrous (subjective) rally speech that he would not promise you things he cannot give, he will do it.

Because…

Eddie, Eddie. The best already.

Grateful… Again

September 7, 2006

Thanks to you all for going through all the trouble to vote for him. And for the words of encouragement and the support. And for the faith. And for remembering him. Thanks.

Overdue Gratitude

August 25, 2006

He’d like to say thanks to a few very kind people.

Glennis and Junming, for the Woods sweets and the Pi Pa Kao.
Shuhui and Ah Seng, for helping him print his tutorials.
His student, Brandon, for being so nice to him yesterday.
Guoyi, for helping him with his laundry.
Jobeth, for buying dinner and making honey water for him.

He apologises for these overdue thanks (busy week) but he is really very touched by what these people did for him (he was, still is, down with cough). People like them make his day brighter. Thank you all again.

Grateful

July 16, 2006

This may sound hypocritical coming out of his mouth, but he is actually glad to be a Singaporean.

Low crime rate, no conventional (earthquakes, tsunamis etc.) natural disasters, stable government, free from major strife… it’s not at all a bad place to live in. Granted there are things that are less than agreeable, but how many people would give anything just to be able to live in peace? Mothers always compare their children to kids from poorer countries (say Rwanda) when they waste food. “Children in Rwanda would give anything to eat the food you waste!”, is what they normally say. He thinks it extends to more important things too. Like Peace.

Living in Singapore has cons too. Higher cost of living (well, prices are increase aren’t they?), restricted press freedom, sometimes clumsy handling of issues are just some of them. But before he gets castigated, there’s more…

At least Singaporeans have things to be grateful for. He doesn’t know about you but he was taught that such things are not supposed to be taken for granted.

(Of course he is trying to live up to that teaching… hah~)
